Keep Seeking Him

Have you ever thought about the fact that as a Christian you will never arrive, never have all the answers, and you should never think you can make it alone. It’s quite the opposite of what the world tells you to do.

The more you walk with Christ, the more you learn how much you desperately need Him. Throughout scripture you see that it is only through Christ can you know your purpose and your direction in life.

It’s simple, yet profound, that daily you need to ask, seek, and trust God for everything that you do.

“Make me know Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.” (Psalm 25:4) #direction #godswill http://bit.ly/1ouP7Hi

Musing about God and the Mountain Moon

Up at Lake Arrowhead for an evening walk we spotted the moon’s rise.

And my heart rejoiced and with praises I prayed:  Great is Your faithfulness O God.  While the days are filled with turmoil and loss and births and deaths each day the earth is blessed with the rise and fall of the sun and moon.  Despite our preoccupation with our daily battle to better ourselves and avoid pain You remain constant and compassionate.   You bid us  come to You “all who are weary and heavy laden” and You will give us rest.  Show us how.  Show us how to come to You.  Show us how to receive Your rest.  Show us.

Then the Lord said “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Glory in the garage: finding the light in the strangest places

Standard

Walking out to the parking garage after work I almost had my breath taken away by the beauty of the setting sun flooding the space.  There was no hiding from the sun and everything cold and familiar was transformed into jaw dropping, breathtaking beauty.  Come, see if you don’t agree then marvel and ponder:  what changed the mundane into a miracle?

The answer, of course, is that nothing changed inside the garage except the time of day.  God says He makes all things beautiful in His time.  Do you want to be beautiful?  Ask God to reveal Himself to you.  Ask Him to show you who He really is.  Seek and you will find.  Knock and the door shall be opened.  Ask and it shall be given.  God says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, plans for your welfare and not calamity.

Then you will call upon Me and I will listen to you and you will seek Me and find Me when you look for  Me with all your heart.
