The Hide

Standard

Here is a wall of gorgeous fern mixed with what appears to be very healthy bougainvillea. Behind it, however, is a hide. A dark hut made of the branches from both plants. Where the sun touches both thrive. As it grows farther out the branches lose their leaves and flowers. It has become a hide. A place where all sorts of hidden things can take refuge. If there was a gardener tending there would be pruning and exposure to the light. And the dark places to hide would dissolve in the light. Sometimes I prefer the hide. The shadowy cool hide invites me to rest and be the bystander. Jesus says I can rest in Him. He casts a large shadow and I can rest in His sufficiency. Nice.

Psalm 91:1
