John 6:31-41. Looks like fighting words! “I AM the Bread of Life.”

What did Jesus mean? God has the right to decide the rules. In the Old Testament Israel coming through the wilderness openly rebelled against God’s laws. They preferred the idols of Egypt and God sent serpents to bite and kill them. Thousands died. Moses begged God for mercy and God had Moses fashion a rod with a serpent wrapped around it and all who looked at it would be healed. There was only one way to life. There is only one way to satisfy the requirements of God’s law. It can never be achieved by doing our best. The Bible is clear, if we break even one law we are law breakers and the penalty for sin is death. But God’s remedy is looking at the Perfect sacrifice for us and believing that is all we need to do to be right with God. This was a type of Christ: John 3:14-16. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of man must be lifted up that whoever believes in Him might be saved. Indeed, Jesus is God’s perfect, satisfying provision for LIFE, eternal life. Our Bread, oor Life Giving Water, our breath. Sometimes we can know “God loves us” and not be truly sure He likes us. But in Jesus, God only looks at you and sees His perfect Son! He absolutely adores you! All your sins are covered by the blood of THE LAMB OF GOD THAT TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD. Your sins have been removed and are as far as the East is from the west to be remembered no more!๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’•
