Don’t set the affections of your heart on this world or in loving the things of the world.

Standard

Don’t set the affections of your heart on this world or in loving the things of the world. The love of the Father and the love of the world are incompatible.
1 John 2:15 TPT (The Passion Translation)
https://bible.com/bible/1849/1jn.2.15.TPTWhen I read this it occurred to me that everything the world stands for: self interest, getting rich, end justifies the means, loving things using people, self determined not God reliant is totally opposed to God. Why would I cozy up to my Dad’s enemy? The values of the world exclude, mock, crush and kill my brothers and sisters. Why would I run after their approval? The world says I need them if I am to ever amount to anything. Jesus says seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything will be given to me. The world says people should be noticing and waiting on me. Recognition is the path to greatness. Jesus says if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom you must be the servant of all. God gives grace to the humble but rejects the proud. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.God’s children and love are His only weapons to defeat the enemy and the world’s propaganda. David said children are a blessing from the Lord. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. The image is munitions, arrows. When the warrior runs out of bullets game over. We are God’s posse. We are God’s ammo to destroy the works of Satan, take the captives and turn them into Christ followers to add more children to God’s war chest to take back what Satan has stolen and expand our Father’s boundaries. Are you with me on this?
