The climb to character formation takes commitment to reach the destination.

Standard

There is great reward sitting at the top and assessing your journey counting all the accomplishments and sacrifices in reaching a goal.

Parenting, being a good friend, or learning a skill is not a job for the faint hearted. The next generation sits on the shoulders of the one before. The climb to independence, self reliance, character and commitment to excellence or deep compassion and resignation to never give up or give in is not unlike a steep, stoney, sometimes slippery climb up a mountain trail but there is nothing more exhilarating and satisfying than to succeed.

Holding on to each other, watching out for pitfalls and dangers, providing constant encouragement, and equipped with food and refreshments while keeping the goal in sight makes the climb safe and enjoyable.

Getting to the top together, no one left to struggle alone is a tremendous reward and cements relationships.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
