Passion isn’t a sensation; it’s a decision.

Standard

“You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.” (Revelation 2:4-5)

Passion isn’t a sensation; it’s a decision. You don’t just pray to get it back; you practice it. Practice makes passion.

That’s why the letter written to the church in Ephesus says to “do the things you did at first” instead of “feel the feelings you felt at first.” They had stopped practicing the things that had fueled their fire. But there wasn’t any reason why they couldn’t start doing these very same things again.

And there’s no reason you can’t get your passion back today; it just takes practice.
