Graham Cooke: It’s not about calling people out on their stuff; it’s about calling people up to who they are.

Standard

There’s a world of difference between what is true and what is truth. For example, it may be true that a man has an anger problem, but the truth is he is a new creation in Christ. Speaking the truth in love is not about speaking to the old, it’s about speaking to the new. It’s about saying, “You don’t have to do that because THIS is who you are.” It’s not about calling people out on their stuff; it’s about calling people up to who they are. That’s what real accountability is.
