Shared from WordPress: How heavy is the half full glass of water?

This is an awesome object lesson on the harm of holding on to negative thoughts.  Philippians 4:8 says what to spend time focusing on.  1 Peter 5:7 says to cast our cares on Jesus because He cares for us.  Place the “Can’t do anything about that” into the hands of the One who can and take from His hand the memories and reminders that leave you with a grateful heart.

  1. Thank you for this, I have to confess that it is something I struggle with and this little story really illustrates, in such a caring way, how heavy a burden carrying worry or regret can become.

    • I needed this too Karen. We were meant to meditate and be transformed from glory to glory by dwelling on the lovely and inspiring things God fills each of our lives with but it cuts both ways and it’s easy to become burdened by memories and regrets and disappointments. God wants us to leave what we can’t change with Him and trust Him to make everything right. Romans 8:28.
